Audio Research Tower Speakers

are there any stand alone dolby digital decoders on the market?
I have a big scene tv and I want to hook up a surround sound system to it but I don’t like those that have 5 small speakers and a subwoofer.I want to use a regular center channel speaker, two big tower speakers, 2 rear surround speakers and a subwoofer or two.You would think this would be no problem but every tower speaker I’ve looked at needs double the power the center and rears need.I can be stubborn sometimes and the fact I can’t find a AV receiver that is set up for such a system( 70-90w for center and rears and 150-200w for front left/ right) is making me crazy.after “LOTS” of research I figured out all I really need is a stand alone Dolby Digital decoder, 5 equalizers, a active crossover with separate filters for each channel(like I’ve seen in some car audio systems); 2, 3 or 4 amps and some speakers. If anybody knew where I can buy a decoder I can take it from there? could any of my fellow Y—- members help me find one?
This is the only stand alone decoder I could find. My bro has one as well (thats whay I knew what to look for) & its very nice.
An alternative would be to get seperate mono-bloc amps from Marantz. That way you can tailor the sound your way & power what you need. The smaller Marantz MA-500 & MA-6100 make 125w each. The larger more desireable MA-700 make 200w each. You’ll need a receiver such as a Yamaha RX-V663 that has pre-outs for all channels. Aside from eBay, you can look at Audiogon.com for these items as well. G’luck.
