Illinois Teaching Jobs 2010

illinois teaching jobs 2010
When should I apply for a teaching job?

Hello! How are you?

On May 7, 2010, I got my Bachelor’s in mathematics and minor in French from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
On September 13, 2010, I began my Master’s and teaching certificate process at National-Louis University in Chicago.
I am taking the APT in February and student teaching from April through June.
On June 10, 2011, I will be certified to teach mathematics and French to grades six through 12 in Illinois.
In August, I will have my Master’s in secondary education.

When should I start applying for a job as a middle or high school mathematics or French teacher?

Thank you! Good-bye!

Prime time to start applying for a teaching job would be in the next month. On most applications I’ve seen, there is a question that says “are you certifiied in your area, or will you be certified by the time you have to work”. This would be the case for you. Most schools start looking for new recruits in early spring through the summer. In order to be ahead of the game, get your application done early. Even though you won’t be able to teach right away, they most likely aren’t looking for anyone until the fall anyway. Good Luck! : )
