Online Teaching Jobs Psychology

Should I get my masters in education or in counseling?

I am at a crossroad right now and I’m not quite sure what I should. I recently graduated with a bachelors in psychology and initially after graduating, I planned to go to the graduate school to receive a masters in counseling or clinical psychology. However, there aren’t many graduate schools that offer the degree I want where I live. I have been searching online for schools that offer distance programs and I have ran across a few places that mentioned that they offer Masters of Art in teaching. In the future, I would like to work at a school and work as a school psychologist and later on open up my own clinic. I know alot of counselors not only provide counseling services but they also work as a sub at some schools so having a teaching background could be useful. I think what I’m concerned about is finding a job and I assume there are more job opportunities as a teacher than as a counselor. What would you do if you were in my situation?

I think counselling is better, because you can teach with just an honours in undergrad teaching or graduate diploma in education. Counselling definitely has more job opportunities, and when you decide to teach later on you can always go back to college to further your skills. With teaching, you teach the same things to a new group of students each year; that can get boring. With counselling you can work in schools, organisations, and businesses, which can be an interesting experience.
