Pioneer Dv 400v K Hdmi
Will this DVD player show HD movies?
About a year ago I purchased a Pioneer DVD Player with 1080p Upconversion, DV-400V-K Black. Now, I have the HD LCD TV. Is this a good thing for my TV and what does it mean? Do I need an HDMI cable to connect the DVD player to a HD TV? I connected it with the red, white and yellow cables, but the TV keeps telling me its not connected? What am I doing wrong?
First off, you need to understand that your player is UPCONVERTING to 1080p. It is not TRUE 1080P HD. What it does is basically “simulate” an HD picture. If you want true 1080P HD picture you need to get a Blu-ray Player. And second, for a 1080P HD picture, you need to have an HDMI Cable. The Red, white and yellow cables are the lowest quality cables you can use. Dont be fooled into buying a “Monster” HDMI cable, and get charged $100 for it. HDMI cables are a digital connection and it’s either on or isn’t. There will be no picture quality between a $100 cable, and a $5 HDMi cable. For cheap HDMI cables, go to http://www.monoprice.com and pay about $3 per cable.
