I have some mp4 videos from Youtube that I want to burn to a readable format in DVD player, but I’m not sure what format, resolution, a/v compression, bit rates, etc I should be using. What do you guys recommend?
Do I need to make a navigational menu from external software to navigate my files, or can I just burn the video files to a DVD?
It looks like your DVD player can already play MPEG-4 files, so you can just copy them to a CD or DVD. That said, there are various flavours of MPEG-4 and the link just refers to DivX – newer versions may not be supported.
If you’re going to play your videos on a “normal” DVD player they need to be in DVD compliant MPEG-2, follow the correct file and folder naming conventions and structures and the disk itself has to be written in Universal Disk Format. The easiest / cheapest solution is to throw the files at DVD Flick and let it do all the work.
