Pioneer Flat Panel Mount
Is there a way to install 6×9″ speakers in the rear of a 2001 Corolla?
I have a 2001 Toyota Corolla,I have a set of Pioneer 3 way 6×9 inch speakers that Im want to install in place of the 6.5″ round ones.The 6×9′s were from my old car,I took them out when I got rid of the car cuz they were only a year old.I want to make them work in my 2001 corolla.I looked at the metal panel that the speakers mount to,and it’s all uneven,the speaker wouldn’t sit flat.So,before I cut the round hole out into the required oval shape,I want to make sure this is going to work.What do I need to do? If I cut it out and place the speaker in,there will be gaps under the speakers that I would need to fill in somehow.Should I just get a new set of 6.5″ round ones? I really would like to use my 6×9′s though.
Yes you can and you don’t have to cut anything. Your stereo shop has 6×9 risers that install over the hole. The speakers install on the riser. I’ve used them several times. I’ve paid less than $10 for the pair.
