Pioneer Floor Standing Speakers

Can i hook up 7 speakers to a 5.1 receiver?
I have a 5.1 channel pioneer vsx-820 receiver and I have 2 floor standing speakers, a center speaker and 2 surround speakers. My receiver has outputs for “speakers B” and in the menu it says that their for front hight or a second set of rear speakers. Do i need an amplifier to do this? Will doing this split the impedance to 4ohms because i have 4 rear speakers instead of 2?
It should only split the impedance if you hooked up the two sets of speakers to the same terminals. However, B speakers don’t usually work as surrounds, but if the instructions say it works then go for it. It won’t be true 7.1 but it will fill the rear with sound nicely.
