Pioneer Pl-400 Turntable

Can i use my component as reciever for turntable unit?
I recently bought a Pioneer PL-400 Turntable at eBay and wonder if I can use my component system as reciever. It has two phono jacks (red and yellow) which the manual says connects to a reciever. My component system is a JVC DX-T99 DVD component which has Audio Line-In connections at the back. Can I use this system in AUX (auxilliary) mode so I can play LPs and hear the sound on my component system?… Any help would be appreciated.. Thanks
It sounds like you will need a “pre-amp” with that unit. If the stereo was made to connect to a turntable it would have jacks clearly labeled “phono”.
Regular RCA line in or aux in jacks will not amplify the turntable enough.
Audio Technica makes a nice one (Model # AT-PEQ3):

There may be cheaper ones out there too. Just Google “phono preamp”.
