Pioneer Rca Adapter
Again with my Radio……?
So I read all the answers you all gave, and thanks. Let me more detailed. I have a 1000 watt amp bridged to my Sub, and a 500 amp to my front, back and tweeters. So the only sound coming from my Head unit is through the RCA’s. All the wiring is hooked up good. Besides, if it was a problem in the amps, the the fuses I have there would have blown, but the only fuses blowing are under my hood, or in the head unit itself. I didnt mess with the stock wiring from the car, I pulled the stock radio out, and bought one of those harness adapters, and just plugged it in. It was working great till recently. Even when I unplug the RCA’s and put a new fuse, it blows out. Could it be too much power for that radio? I never had this happen. I’ve seen the cheapest radios crank the biggest amps, why is my pioneer blowing fuses?
You say that you are running only amps, not using the internal amp in the deck? Did you tape up all the unused wires speakers, etc.? they could be shorting out if you didn’t. You have one amp for the door speakers and tweeters, how did you connect them, did you run new wires? cut the existing? Tap into existing? And when you say the fuse under the hood, are you talking about the main one for the amps, or in the cars fuse block?
