Pioneer Rca Preouts

Mazda Car Stereo Advice?

Car: Mazda 626 2001
The Head Unit: Pioneer DEH-P3600

Built-in Speaker Power MOSFET 50W x 4
Crossover Network Two-Way Crossover
High-Pass Crossover (HPF) 50/80/125Hz, -12dB/Oct.
Subwoofer Crossover (LPF) 50/80/125Hz, -18dB/Oct., +/-12dB
RCA Preouts 2 pair (Front, Sub/Non-Fading)
Preout Voltage & Impedance 2V, 100 Ohm

Replacing the factory front door speakers with these:

FRONT: Pioneer TS-A6872R
240 watts maximum power handling (40 watts nominal)
30 Hz to 28 kHz frequency response with 90 dB sensitivity

I have a few questions.

1) Are the rear speakers the same dimensions as the front speakers? I looked at crutchfield.com and it stated my speaker sizes are 2 at 6×8 and 2 at 6×9.

2) If I hook up the pioneer’s directly to the head unit should I get an amp? If so, what size? I will probably get the same pioneer speakers for the back if the sizes are the same.

Thanks,
Aaron

i own a mazda 6 and the rear are different from the front. and as far as the amp. its not necessary to get an amp. the speakers will work just fine, however if you want that little bit of extra something then it can never hurt getting an amp. any 4 channel amp that does about 100 watts per channel is plenty big enough. good luck with that.
