Pioneer Receiver Vsx-516
HELP!!!!Old audio receiver and new HDTV?
I have an Pioneer VSX-516 audio receiver and I just purchased a Element 42in plasma. Can I still use my receiver with the standard white and yellow rca cords? Is there a different type of audio cord I have to use?I don’t know the first thing about audio so thanks for the help. The first link the the user manual for the receiver and the second in the TV.

I have 5 speakers total,I have the 2 fronts,2 surround sound, and 1 center and no sub 
. I have a Xbox 360 with with the hd component cords, will I plug that into the audio receiver 2?
hi emanuel….I’ve used a vsx pioneer amp and still own it and the way i linked it up to a hdtv was to use an “optical fibre digital audio ” cable… From the optical “out” on the rear of your pioneer amp and put the other end in the optical input on the rear of your tv…..then all of your components run straight off the receiver….and when you have done that you simply find the new device (reciever) allocation from your “source” list on your tv…..easy as that!…..and merry xmas.
