Pioneer Receiver Vsx-519v
How do I use a VCR with a Pioneer multi-channel receiver?
I have a Pioneer VSX-519V multi-channel receiver and have my TV, satellite box, DVD player, and VCR hooked up to it. The TV and DVD player work great, but when I try to use the VCR I get audio through the Pioneer speakers and no video on the TV. My TV only has the input options HDMI and TV. I use the HDMI setting for watching TV through the satellite box and for watching the DVD player since nothing is hooked up directly to the TV except for the receiver. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong but I would like to be able to use the VCR to watch old VHS movies as well as record from my TV onto VHS tapes (I know, it would be easier to have TiVo or DVR but I don’t). Please help.
You have to connect video cable ( yellow one ? ) directly from VHS to TV for video. Your receiver doesn’t convert S- video or composite cable ( yellow one ) by HDMI output to TV.
