Pioneer Touch Screen Car Stereo
What speakers I should get for my car to go along with the subs and amp that I already have?
I just got two 12 in. subs boxed up and a 400 watt mono subwoofer amplifier (both Kicker brand) installed into my vehicle. Also have a Pioneer touch screen stereo. Looking for some Pioneer speakers (preferably) to go along with that. I don’t quite understand the whole 2-way and 3-way speakers, the tweeters, and crossovers concept though. What I exactly want is some good quality speakers that give out a lot of sound, not bass bcuz I already have subwoofers.
Hmm… simple. I cant give you a specific model, but this hopefully should help you out.
2 way and 3 way speakers: That represents the amount of tweeters in the speaker, including the cone (the large round piece). Each tweeter in the speaker handles a certain noise frequency. So the bass cone handles low, the mid range cone handles mid range, and the high cone handles high frequencies. 3 way speakers are the ones to have, they usually sound good and you wont need extra tweeters.
Tweeter: a “speaker inside a speaker”, or a small stand alone speaker that handles high notes. The tweeter has a certain range of frequency it can handle. Thats why you want 3 way speakers, so your system can handle all the frequencies.
2 subs, 400 watts, kicker…
Look for speakers between the range of 30-60ish RMS. That should be almost equal in terms of how much bass to the volume of the speakers. You dont want the speakers to overwhelm the bass, or the bass to be so deep you cant hear the song. You’ll probably need to adjust the gain on both amps to get it just right. You may also need to install another amp to power the extra speakers, unless the head unit can power them. LOOK FOR RMS ONLY! Max power is to sell the speakers only, it means nothing. Pioneer is a good way to go, I have a pioneer Head Unit and Pioneer subs. Good luck!
