Located in Arbor, Michigan , in United States , Spring Arbor University is often named “The Arbor” by the students. An evangelical protestant university that is affiliated with the Free Methodist Church , the university is affiliated to Free Methodist Church . With around 3700 students studying professional and graduate courses it has 100 full time faculties that make it one of the most accomplished universities .
Brief History
Founded in 1873 by the leaders of the Free Methodist Church who preached freedom for slaves and free pews for all worshippers, its pioneer was Edward Payson Hart. Spring Arbor Seminary thus established was a secular educational institution. Achieving accreditation by North Central Association of Colleges and Schools in 1960, its name was changed to Spring Arbor College . Gradually with further expansion it became a university in April 2001 and today it has twenty affiliate colleges within its network.
Programs Offered
Over 40 major programs are offered by the university that is well reputed for the liberal arts curriculum. Degree options include associate or arts as well as associate of science in business, bachelors in management as well as organizational development, social work, nursing, Christian ministry leadership, and family life education. Attending chapel service is mandatory at 10.10 AM on Mondays and Wednesday for all students. Trading Center
Spring Arbor University opened a trading center simulating the real world. Meant to give the students real life experiences in trading technologies so that they gain sufficient confidence, it is also the platform of preparation for the Series 7 certification. Dual monitor computers, data board, financial news feeds, LCD screen for teaching, electronic ticker tapes, bank of international clocks, and the Bloomberg financial terminal are some of the features of the trading center.
Financial Aid
Filling out the FAFSA forms one can apply for student loans and financial grants. Federal Aids include the Federal Stafford loan and Federal Grad Plus loan. Other loans are available from financial institutions and preferred lenders. In addition there are provisions for tax credits in favor of students and their parents. Tuition tax credits, hope tax credits for dependent students, lifetime learning tax credits for independent students are also provided.
