Pioneer Vcd Karaoke
CDV = VCD for karaoke?
So I was looking for a karaoke player and noticed that people seemed to like the older multidisc players from pioneer or jvc. Anyway, I have an old circa 1995 Pioneer CLD-M90 player that I believe plays cdv’s (in addition to CD and Laserdisc). Now are CDV the same as VCD? Seeing as CDV is CD-video and VCD is video-CD, I’m thinking the answer is yes. In that case, if I wanted to use it as a karaoke player, I can just buy VCD karaoke discs right? I realize that CD+G is more popular, but for now, while I try to find one of the better JVC on ebay, I want to make use of this player. Thanks!
I think they’re the same. All the Asian VCDs I have, have a hologram sticker with CDV written on them.
