Can ipod/cd speakers be hooked up to TV?
I have this CD/ipod system: http://tinyurl.com/3dx6xg that has pretty good sound. Before I spend a bundle on a speaker system for my TV (and in the future projector/computer set up) I want to see how things might sound in my apartment with speakers. The trouble is that I have no idea how I would go about connecting the speakers to the TV – what kind of adapters to look for, if there are even any at all.
I tried hooking up my logitech computer speaker system to the TV, which I thought would work if I used a headphone jack but surprise! There are no headphone jacks. I have a newer model Toshiba TV so I don’t expect there will be any issue with age, just knowing what I can and can’t do and what adapters I may or may not need.
The link above, for a Teac system, might not show everything; its confusing because it appears there is only an extra video input/output cord. Any assistance would be great. I just want to test things out before I commit to buying!
Even if there was a way to hook up your TV to your Ipod system I’m afraid it wouldn’t sound all that good, especially for movies and such. Plus you will lose out on 5:1 if that means anything to you. You’re probably better off just going ahead and getting a decent Receiver and 5:1 speaker setup.
Then you can plug your Ipod into that and it will sound even better.
