why do my homemade cd’s start failing after a few months?
when i’ve burned my own cd’s after about 8 month or so the tracks start skipping on my stereo.its a decent TEAC one too not some cheapo.i’ve tried different brand of cd-r but its always the same.any help or suggestions please.thanks
It is because CDRW’s are created by diviting the planar surface of the CD with marks which are either 1′s or 0′s (binary). Because a CDRW is not coated after this process (like pre-made CD’s and DVD’s that you purchase commercially), the divots eventually deteriorate. Additional problems occur due to sunlight exposure, temperature variations, and the CD player itself.
Most CD’s that you buy commercially are essentially the same with little variance (sort of like buying oil or gasoline)
