Teac Energy

I have a set of Energy speakers whose capacities are 20-100 watts.I would like to get an amp that pushes?
the speakers, plays an ipod and has the ability to plug in one or two subs. If one sub I am good. Does anyone know of a mid priced amp that can pull the load giving me something more to build on in the future? NAD maybe? I would prefer, doesn’t mean I am not open, but I would prefer to be between $300-550. I like TEAC but I have not listened to TEAC. I would like a pleasant surprise. It could be re-furbished too. I would appreciate your recommendations, I am getting the itch to go get something, probably from writing about this subject all the time.
Thanks in advance for your expertise.
I’m on vacation overseas:) but here’s my opinion…
This amp choice will all depend on the energy speaker model, and also how many speakers?
2? 5? Or more?
I’d stick to choices like pioneer, yamaha or onkyo for surround. Their choices are vast: and has a model for all budgets.
For 2 channel… Nad, mctintosh, are top of list… But there are others.
There are also tube amps- which for some reason sound smoother, more natural for music.
Tube Amps CAN be relatively cheap… There are a few Asian (china) brands that sound amazing for the price… But I know you’d rather buy used than to buy china brands… So try kijiji-craigslist locally.
Good luck!
