Teac Home Audio Speakers

Is it safe to use home adio system as computer speakers?

i recently connected my home audio system which is from TEAC to my computer’s sound card which is creative lab x-fi xtremegamer.

theres no specific model for it but its generally gray with two speakers and a sub. it has aux/tuner//cd capabilities.

is it safe to use as computer speakers? i dont go too loud but i do use it for a long time everyday.

I have a Creative Sound Card Audigy 2 ZS Sound Blaster..and its hooked to my JVC 5.1 Surround Sound Stereo/the Sound Blaster has BOTH–a Analog and a Digital OUT..plus the OUTPUTS for a Creative Surround Sound AMPLIFIER..utilizing Center-L&R-REAR..sub-woofer..adding a standard L&R Stereo..

OK..so look at the REAR Panel of your Stereo..the RED-WHITE are RCA connections for analog sound..Left-Right..I use a DVD Hook-up(digital)for my XP-Pro Computer..and a CD(analog)Hook-up for my XP-Home Edition Copmputer..(Augigy SE)-is analog ONLY–

x-fi is most likely a Digital OUTPUT Sound Card..but should have a Analog-out also..
Check which PORTS do what..there is also a Audio IN..for a WAVE-editor..

If your Card has a Digital Out–and your TEAC Stereo has a Digital IN..also called CO-AX..go with that..your Stereo will use its Digital-Digital Converter to create Surround Sound or Dolby Digital output to the speaker system..I went to a RadioSHACK Store and purchased a single-WIRE(Video Cable)(black)w/RCA on one side..and a MIC-connection on the other..for the Digital Connection to my Stereo..so if your cable does not create sound..try that..
..
You only need the Stereo OUTPUT of L&R..from the sound card..because the-stereo-amplier will convert to Surround Sound.
