how can i record set top box picture on my vcr????
i got a set top box its a Teac DV-B420 and i want to record the picture to my LG VHS Player.
my answer that i got from the teac website was:
Yes, you may. You will need to connect the 3RCA cable(as supplied) to the Video & Audio input on the VCR. Using the VCR remote, select “AV”, “EXT” on “Line In” selection. Set the TV to the video channel. The set top box picture will appear. Now it may be recorded.
theres the answer to my problem but i dont understand it very well can someone tell me in there own words step-by-step how to do it?????????

hey scandalouslyaverage i understand the red, white yellow cords bit but can ya help me with the vcr remote bit where ya press av and stuff
i tried plugging the red, white and yellow cables from ther set top box to the vcr and nothing comes up not even the vcr channel and set top box channel
Get a set of red white and yellow cables. Connect them from the cable box (should be labeled video out) to the VCR (should be labeled something like audio/video input). Set your TV to the input that you can see video from the VCR on (maybe channel 3 or video one- depends on if you use the kind of cable that screws on or the red white and yellow to connect the VCR to the TV)
Once you’ve done that, use the VCR remote. Hit the AV button, go down to LINE IN and hit EXT.
That should pass the video through to the VCR

When it comes to trying to get video from the rca cables on a VCR, it’s not always the easiest feat.
You know what might be easier for you is to use coax only. It won’t be as good of a picture, but it’s much easier to set up.
-Run coax (screw on cable) from the set top box into the VCR in (RF in, cable in, something like that)
- Run another coax from the VCR to the TV. Look on the VCR next to where you plug in the cable. It should have a channel 3-4 switch. Pay attention to where this is set. This is the channel the TV should be on. (you’ll have to use the TV remote for this)
- Once you get it hooked up try playing a tape, see if you get video. If you do, you’re ready to go on. If not, double and triple check your connections. Remember, OUT of the set top box IN to the VCR, OUT of the VCR and IN to the TV. Everything flows downhill.
- In order to record it should be pretty straight forward. Check the set top box to see if it has a channel 3-4 switch. If it does, remember what it’s set to.
- Turn on the VCR. There should be a TV/VCR button on the VCR itself, or on the remote. Hit that. Turn the VCR to channel 2, 3, or 4 (check all three)
- This is going to be a bit of trial and error, but it should be easy
Once more-
- Connect the set top box, VCR, and TV with coax
- Tune TV to the channel indicated on the back of the VCR
- Turn on VCR
- Hit the TV/VCR button
- Turn the VCR to channel 2, 3, or 4
- you SHOULD be getting video from the set top box now.
