Teac Subwoofer

How do I retrieve a key from a subwoofer?
No, you did NOT read that incorrectly. I have a TEAC subwoofer that goes with an iPod dock, and there’s this opening from which the sound comes out of. It doesn’t have a mesh over it or anything, and I put a key to a lock box that I have in that space. But yesterday, I pushed the key too far in and it dropped INTO THE SUBWOOFER. Now, I shook it around a bit to see if I can get the key out. The key fell DEEPER INTO THE SUBWOOFER and now even if you shake it, you can’t hear it. Help! What do I do?!
I forgot to mention a couple of things. First of all, before you ask about a backup key, that WAS the backup key!! Second of all, the lockbox isn’t very important to me. The worst thing that could happen is that I ask someone to help me pry it open. But I’m mostly worried about it ruining my subwoofer.
Thanks.
Easiest way is to open the subwoofer, should be screws in back or on the bottom, or sometimes you can remove the screws around the speaker cone. Just be sure to screw it back together tightly.
Some speakers are filled with insulation, which may be why you can’t hear the key. But more likely, it’s stuck to the driver magnet.
